Protecting Your Construction Data Using Cloudsfer's Backup Solution
Regularly backing up your Autodesk Construction Cloud projects is essential to safeguard your valuable construction data. With Cloudsfer, you can automate the backup process through scheduled routines and securely store your project data on your local file system. This ensures quick data recovery and helps prevent disruptions caused by accidents, system failures, or cybersecurity threats.
How to Back Up Autodesk Docs & BIM 360 Docs to Your Windows File System – Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1:
Go to the ‘Backup & Restore’ tab.
Note: Ensure the window is highlighted in turquoise, indicating you're in the backup section.

Select the source system ‘BIM 360’ and click ‘Connect’.
Note: Use the BIM 360 connector for all Autodesk Construction Cloud products, including BIM 360, Autodesk Build, and Autodesk Docs.
When connecting for the first time
, you must allow Cloudsfer to access your BIM account via the Data Management API.
Ensure you have Admin access or collaboration rights on the projects being backed up.
A pop-up window will appear. Enter your account details and authorize access for Cloudsfer.

Choose the projects you wish to back up.
Step 5:
Select the target system ‘File System’ and click ‘Connect’.
Note: To back up data to your file system, you must install the Cloudsfer Agent on your local computer.
Click “Add New Agent”.
A pop-up window will appear—copy the token and click “Download Agent.”
Follow the Agent Installation Guide and return to this guide once installation is complete.
Step 6:
Select the destination path on your file system and click ‘Create Backup’.
Note: Ensure your agent status is green, indicating it is active and ready.
Step 7:
Enter a name for your backup project and click ‘OK’.
Step 8:
Optionally, set a time for the first backup.

Check the boxes for ‘Sync Enabled’ and ‘I reviewed the restrictions’.

Scroll down and click on the name of your backup project.![]()
You’ll be redirected to the Restore Dashboard, where you can mark folders as in progress, deleted, or damaged.
